A STRANGER IN MY ARMS UNIVERSAL B&W Junes character: Christina Beasley A military plane crashes in the water, and two men are left stranded in a life raft for days waiting to be rescued. One man, played by Peter Graves, dies, and the other man, played by Jeff Chandler, is rescued. He is the only one who truly knows what happened during those long days at sea. The mother of the man who dies, played by Mary Astor, wants her son awarded the Medal of Honor and sends her daughter-in-law, played by June Allyson, to find out why his "friend" does not want to attend the ceremony. Truths are discovered, and family loyalties are tested. Also starring in this movie are Sandra Dee and Charles Coburn. Directed by Helmut Kauner, produced by Ross Hunter. This was the last major starring role for Ms. Allyson in a motion picture.
